Social Media Content: Share the Basics of What You Know

Creating social media content can be a daunting task. So daunting and such a tall order that it gets placed at the bottom of the to-do list. Allow me to simplify it.

In my opinion, your content should do one of three things:

  • Solve a problem

  • Tell me something about you, your product, or service

  • Shed some light on your industry

With any of those three things in mind, share the basics of what you know.

So many of you have years and years of experience in your industry. You have experienced so many things, overcome so many problems, and thought of new ways to improve your product or service. You are an absolute wealth of knowledge and anything you can share with your followers/connections is pure gold.

Quick example. If you’ve cut hair for 10 years, I bet you have so many tips, tricks, and hacks that the public would find amazingly helpful. Share enough of those tips and offer a discount for new clients -- I can practically guarantee you’re booking a new appointment!

Remember: something you learned six years ago and now find very routine may be mind-blowing to the rest of us. Share your knowledge and mark it off your to-do list.
